    In medical practice in Cape Colony (successively at Bredersdorp, Kenhard, Barkly West, and Victoria West) 1888 till his death. Surgeon-captain to the Kimberley Light Horse during the siege of that town 1899-1900. D.S.O. J.P. for Barkly West. A Freemason.

    George married Winefred Bermingham Cottam on 7 Jun 1895 in Kimberley, Northern Cape, South Africa. Winefred (daughter of Rev Cottam) was born on 30 Mar 1868 in Old Trafford, Lancashire; died between 1945 and 1955. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
