Lived in 1932 at 87 Westbourne Terrace, Paddington. Portrait, age 18, by Richard Jack, R.A., last in possession of her daughter Beatrice. Like many in her family she was an artist and a very good one; she bought Smallwood in 1940 and gave a home there to her sister Alice, Lady Coote, till she died in 1975.
Latterly she spent 2 years at the Tiled House Nursing Home nearby and died 11 Aug. 1977 (aged 102). During her last 3 years she knitted many squares for Oxfam blankets, although partially blind.Anna married George Harold Gibbs on 2 Sep 1897 in Ballintubbert, Laois, Ireland. George (son of George Louis Monck Gibbs and Laura Beatrice Elton) was born on 28 Feb 1869 in Paddington, London; died on 28 Dec 1926 in Slough, Buckinghamshire; was buried on 31 Dec 1926 in Clifton Hampden, Oxfordshire. In woodland ownership and forestry till 1978. Chairman Southern Division of Royal Forestry Society (1964-69). On Executive Committee of Squash Rackets Association (1953-68). Conservation interests include Fauna Preservation Society, Member since 1927 and on Council 6 years (between 1958 and 1965); World Wildlife Fund (local Group founder member).
