M.R.C.S.Eng., L.R.C.P. (London, 1927), late House Surgeon at Guy's. In practice (1931) at Havant, Hants., as partner in the firm of Glanville Soames and Rickett. During the Second World War was Major R.A.M.C. (surgeon). Mentioned in Despatches. In 1944 he was attached to Force 133 and was sent to the Island of Vis in the Adriatic, the only one of those islands not occupied by the Germans. He set up a hospital there (by means of barter and other unconventional methods) and treated Commandos and Yugoslav partisans. After the war he returned to General Practice. Retired 1960.
