Feb. 1941. Went to Middle East June 1941. Brigadier R.A. September 1941. Invalided to U.K. G.S.O. 1 Senior Officers' School 1942. Assistant Commandant Staff College 1943-44. Deputy Military Secretary, War Office 1944-46. Retired December 1946.

      Lived at Holt, Trowbridge, Wiltshire 1946 to 1968 then at Thanes House, Shaftesbury, until his death.
