- Only daughter of Walter Parkyns Tyler of Gordonbush, Brora, Sutherland, by Jessie Woodriff Berkeley Quill only child of Col. Berkeley Quill of Tralee, Co. Kerry. Born at Hyde Park Mansions, London 23 July 1921 and baptised at St. Thomas's, Navestock, Essex 28 August 1921. Educated at Downham, Essex 1933-37, Paris 1937-38. Married 16 July 1947 at St. Margaret's, Westminster.
Presented at Court 1939 (probably the last one with feathers etc.). At outbreak of Second World War served in the Land Army; 1941-1945 WAAF. Commissioned 1943 as a photographic interpreter, serving at C.I.U. Medmennam and Coulommiers (France) March-September 1945.
Hon. Organiser Poppy Day Appeal in Stanstead Abbotts, St. Margarets and Great Amwell from 1965-79. President Hertford and E.Herts. Branch N.S.P.C.C. 1969-79, in aid of which held annual Spring Plant Sales of own raised plants and opened garden in Summer. Also opened garden for Red Cross. Resigned from both in 1979 because of move to Somerset in 1980.
