Entered Antony Gibbs & Sons 1903, partner from 1908; was with Gibbs Bright & Co. in Australia 1902-3, with Gibbs & Co. in Chile 1904-5. A director of The London Assurance Corporation from 1908, & of Ruislip Manor Ld. from 1910. In the Great War a member (1915-19) of Headquarters Central Detachment of Metropolitan Special Constabulary, London (Special constabulary medal). As a Freemason: Junior Grand Warden of England in Mark masonry 1911-12; Senior Grand Deacon of England in Craft Masonry 1931; Member of 'Nobody's Friends' from 1916, of the Carlton Club from 1908. On the Council of St. Peter's Home, Kilburn. A Trustee of St. Michael's Home, Cheddar. He and his wife lived from 1905 at 41 Connaught Sq., Paddington.
