Mark Startin Cassidy

Notes:

1st son of Charles S. Cassidy, Royal Navy Reservist of the Union Castle Steamship Line, by Catherine Startin. Educated at Christ's Hospital, Sussex.

In the Great War; 2nd Lieut. Highland Light Infantry August 1914; Lieut. 2 Feb. 1915; Captain 12 December 1915 3rd Batallion (reserve) and sometime Adjutant. Served in France with 1st Gordon Highlanders and in Mesopotamia with Highland Light Infantry. He held the 1914-15 Star, British War medal, and Allies (Victory) medal.

He was employed in the firm of Tootal, Broadhurst, Lee and Co. of Manchester and living in Vienna.

He married secondly, in June 1931 in Vienna, Jean, younger daughter of Wilding of Bottesford, nr.
Nottingham.

Mark married Mary Blanche Medley on 1 Jun 1918 in St. Mary's Cathedral, Glasgow. Mary (daughter of Dudley Julius Medley and Isabel Alice Gibbs) was born on 13 Nov 1896 in Oxford, Oxfordshire; died on 16 Oct 1925 in Rathfarnham, Dublin, Ireland. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

1. Anne Rosalind Cassidy was born in 1920 in England; died in 2006 in England.
2. Fiona Mary Cassidy was born on 29 Oct 1924 in Ireland; died in 1999 in Chesterfield, Derbyshire.
